Ahhh.... It is getting so close. I have been doing a lot lately. I got some new wedding shoes, because my dress still seemed a little short from the alterations mishap. My new shoes seem to be more comfortable, probably because they are about an inch shorter. Last weekend Jeff and I had a meeting with our caterers, who are awesome! We talked to them about the entire wedding, like decor and time-lines. They are going to set up most of the decor. We also went and bought the last of our decorations, and some other little things that we would need for the wedding. Thing are getting crazy and busy for me, and I have been having wedding nightmares, so this weekend is going to be all relaxing. We are going camping this weekend. Hopefully it will calm my nerves about the wedding.

Wow, it has been a while since I posted here. I am currently updating the site.

We got our Engagement photos taken by our photographer, Kelsie Taylor. Kelsie is great, she is wonderful to work with and has a wonderful creative eye. I will post some of the pictures around the site, and in the Vendors page.

My wedding dress almost was a disaster! When we came in for our first fitting in early January we were told the hem and bustle was done. During that fitting they pinned on all the lace, how we wanted it (I am getting lace added to my dress). Well, when we went to the next fitting the dress was about 3-4 inches too short! Everyone knows what Crystal did to that tailor, right? No, I didn't, I just keep quiet, because I knew if I started into it I would end up hurting someone. We left the shop. Later I talked, very loudly and crying, to my mom about it. She called the shop. I was trying to think of what shoes I needed to make the dress long enough, I was wearing the same heals to all the fittings. Well lets skip everything else. We ended up going to the dress shop a little over a week later, to see my hopefully finished dress. The ended up lengthening the hem as far as they could, and it reaches the ground once again. They had also finished up the lace. We took my dress, the bridesmaids dresses, and my mom's dress from the shop then and there.

So... About the rest of the dresses... We had my mom and the girls try on their dresses. Well none of the fit, all way too small. We took my mom's to another tailor, and he said that there was no way he could fix it without adding material. He also couldn't add material, because the dress has a whole bunch of embroidery. The girls dresses had about a 4 inch gap between the zippers, so theirs are definitely not fixable. Ahhhhhh!!!! Well, we went around to other dress shops, and they cannot guarantee to get dresses in before my wedding, let alone tailor them also. We called the initial dress shop, and they said that the cannot give us a refund, but they could exchange them for the correct size. We don't trust that they can get them in on time, or their measuring skills, so we are not going to take that route. So what we were doing last Saturday was looking for bridesmaids dresses. Hooray for Nordstrom, you have saved the day again! Nordstrom had the perfect dresses. Better yet they were in stock, and were able to be tailored that day! So we have new bridesmaid dresses, but still looking for a mother's dress. End the end everything is seeming to work out.

And More Wedding Stuff :)
I haven't had time to update this site, but we did some more wedding stuff! We finally found a photographer that we both really like. She is Kelsie Taylor. She is going to shoot our wedding and engagement photos. We had a meeting with her on Monday, and we signed a contract. I am so excited, I found out it was hard to find a photographer that is good.

On Monday, we also went out and looked at hotels to recomend to our out of town guests. I will hopefully be adding thoes to our information page today.

A couple weekends ago we went up to a sale in LA, with Jeff's parents, and we got the pants for Jeff, our groomsmen, father of the bride, and step-father of the bride. They are our favorite brand of jeans, Rock and Republic. I can't wait to see everyone together in them.

And last, but not least, we found out that my father is going to send us to New Zealand for our Honeymoon. We were going to go to San Francisco, because we didn't have the money to go elsewhere. We have wanted to go to New Zealand. Thank You Dad!

Caterer tasting. Yum...
Jeff and I went to Slice of Heaven Catering for a tasting of the menu that we put together with them a couple weeks ago. The food was really good, I liked everything I tried, but I could not try the chicken because I am a vegetarian. Their food was very flavorful. Jeff really liked everything, but though the salad was a little bland. The reason why it was a little bland was because it was a ceasar salad, but he had them make the dressing without anchovies. We signed the contract, so now we have a caterer!

Invitations
We have been looking and looking through invitations for our wedding, and can not find that perfect invitation that we both agree on, so we decided to make them. I tend to overestimate the work involved in making things, so I decided to start looking for cardstock this week. I went to Paper Source first. I had found everything that I needed, I bought a couple of things needed, so that I can show Jeff. We ended up going back on Wednesday evening so that we could pick the rest of the items needed for invitations, table numbers, name cards, RSVP cards, and anything else that we needed. We wend to my mom's house on Friday night, so that we could work on the invitations on Saturday. Well we ended up making all of them already. I thought it would have taken us a few weekends. We love our invitations, I am glad that we went the route of making them.

We found a caterer!
We have been looking for a caterer for some time now. Most of the caterers that we have communicated with only has been communicating through email and sometimes phone. Usually after talking to us once very breifly they send us a proposal that makes no since for our wedding. Well, last Friday we went to visit, yes actually visit, Slice of Heaven Catering to talk about our wedding, so they can make a proposal. We went through our wedding in detail and what tables and chairs our venu is already providing. We recieved the proposal very promptly. The proposal is exactly what we had in mind, and for a really good price. Also, Holli, the owner of Slice of Heaven Catering, was very nice and worked very well with us to figure out what exactly we want. We are going to be going to a tasting in a couple of weeks. I am happy to find such a great catering company.

Well here is the story...
We got engaged on March 27, 2010. We went up to Jeff's parents house easter weekend, and told everyone about our engagement. Ever since then we have been busy busy busy! My mom, Jeff, and I went right away to the venue that we wanted, the San Diego Botanical Gardens here in Encinitas. We ended up reserving the Date May 14, 2011. Next, my mom and I went to D'Angelo Couture for my dress. We had looked in a couple of other shops before that, but didn't like them because they were pushy and overwhealming. D'Angelo Couture was great, the people that work in the shop are the best, and very nice. I found the most beautiful dress by Robin Jillian. We have already ordered the dress. On another weekend we went to the Bridal Bazaar here in San Diego. Jeff, My mom, Jeff's mom, and I went. It was pretty fun, but I ate too much sample cake. We got to talk to some tux vendors, caterers, and bakerys. We had our engagement party on May 15, 2010. It was a fun little BBQ. Since my stepsisters were down for the engagement party, we went bridesmaid dress shopping for them. We found beautiful dresses for them and my mom, which we ordered. Last weekend we went to Edelweiss Bakery for a tasting. They were very good, and had lovely cakes. We ordered our cake while we were there. It is seeming hard to find a good caterer, we have been looking from the start for one. Well I will try to keep this diary up to date, but not sure if it will happen.
